Belmont

General: A small quaint village in between Bolton & Darwen, Belmont has approximately 500 residents. In the beautiful West Pennine Moors, Belmont has a strong community feel with a Village Residents Association to look after all its occupants.

Location: Lying approximately 5 miles North West of Bolton in a valley, the A675 Old Bolton to Preston Road runs through Belmont. There is also a minor road to Rivington. An Arriva bus No 535 connects Belmont to Bolton Town Centre. The closest railway stations serving Belmont are Bromley Cross or Entwistle.

Healthcare: For doctors, dentists, opticians and pharmacies a visit to neighbouring Darwen, Horwich or Bromley Cross is required.

Education: The only school in the small village is Belmont Primary School. Further schools, including secondary schools, can be found in the neighbouring areas.

Local facilities: Belmont offers various local facilities including two pubs, a post office, newsagents, a restaurant/bar and St Peter’s Church. The neighbouring towns of Bolton & Darwen both have an abundance of other facilities.

Leisure: Belmont Reservoir is in the North of Belmont Village and is home to Bolton Sailing Club. Belmont offers local clubs including Brownies, Mothers Union and a Woman’s Institute.
