Buckshaw Village
General: Buckshaw Village is a fast growing new residential area between Chorley & Leyland. It is an urban development with modern properties and currently has a population of approximately 4,000+. It boasts from a village centre which includes various shops and a retail centre.
Location: Buckshaw Village has excellent transport links making the town an ideal commuter village to nearby cities. The M6, M61, A6 and A49 are all located nearby providing easy access to major roads and motorways. The village is served by Buckshaw Parkway Railway station which is found on the main Manchester - Preston line. The village is also part of the National Cycle Network offering a good alternative to public transport. Buckshaw Village is also served by the following bus routes;
- No 109 – Fishwick/Stagecoach – between Chorley, Leyland & Preston.
- No 10 – Stagecoach – to Chorley
Healthcare: Doctors are available at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Oakbridge Drive - 01772 623809 as well as in other neighbouring towns.
Education: The village is home to a number of primary schools including Trinity Methodist Primary and Buckshaw Primary School. The nearest high school is located at Parklands High School in Chorley.
Local facilities: Buckshaw Village possesses good facilities for shops, pharmacies and restaurants. A dentist is available at Euxton Dental Centre. The largest supermarket in the town is Tesco located on Ordnance Road.
Leisure: Buckshaw Village is also home to The Hub which houses a swimming pool, hair and beauty salon and coffee shop. There are also various sports facilities in the area with football pitches available for use.
