Haigh
General: Haigh is a small and peaceful village in the borough of Wigan, neighbouring Aspull, with a population of around 600.
Location: Haigh is situated to the east of Wigan and is linked to Wigan by the B5238 and to Bolton by the B5239. The nearest rail station is Wigan Wallgate running local services and national services including to London. Maytree, First Manchester, Stagecoach and Arriva provide the 575 & 576 services to Wigan and Bolton.

Education: The nearest primary institution is in Aspull – Aspull Church Primary and there is a good choice of primary schools in the town. Secondary schools can be found in neighbouring towns – Deanery High and Rose Bridge High.
Local facilities: There are limited facilities in Haigh and the nearest supermarket is located at Morrison’s on Makerfield Way, Ince. Aspull offers a small scattering of essential services.
Leisure: Haigh is home to Haigh Hall and Haigh Country Park which offer great days out with pleasant countryside. Haigh Windmill is also a popular touristic attraction to the area and is the only remaining windmill in the Greater Manchester area.
