Hindley Green
General: Hindley Green is a small residential village with a population of 13,000+. It has a history of coal mining but it now predominantly a commuting area.
Location: Hindley Green is to the East of Hindley and centred on the A577. It is easily accessible to Wigan & Leigh. There are various bus services including:
- No 33 First Greater Manchester between Wigan & Manchester
- No 540 First Greater Manchester between Wigan & Bolton
- No 593 Frist Greater Manchester to Leigh
- No 132 South Lancs Travel between Wigan & Atherton
Hindley Green railway station unfortunately closed many years previous. The nearest station is now located in the neighbouring area of Hindley. Northern Rail cover the Wigan to Manchester line, with services to Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Manchester airport.

In neighbouring Hindley there is also Hindley High School.
